The role of the OPCC
The Commissioner is supported by a small team working for the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) in the delivery of the Police and Crime Plan and other statutory duties.

The OPCC team
The PCC has a small but dedicated team who assist with statutory and strategic responsibilities for policing and community safety on behalf of the 560,000 residents of Cleveland.

Working with partners
The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) works closely with a range of partners. On occasion, this will involve the joint funding of specialist roles to drive forward partnership projects.

Finances and budgets
The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) has its own dedicated budget for staffing of the office, engagement activities, audit provision and community safety projects.

Cleveland Police and Crime Panel
The Police and Crime Panel (PCP) has the power to scrutinise PCC activities. That includes the ability to review the Police and Crime Plan and Annual Report, veto decisions, request PCC papers and call PCCs and Chief Constables to public hearings.

By law, the Police and Crime Commissioner keep a register of each offer of a gift or hospitality made to members of staff.
