Teesside Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC)
Teesside SARC provides a sensitive and dedicated service to meet the needs of victims of rape and sexual assault.
What it does
The purpose-built SARC provides 24-hour crisis intervention and support 365 days a year.
Specially-trained staff explain and discuss option. They also provide support. Staff ensure victims’ needs are met throughout the process whatever they decide to do.
Victims do not have to report an assault to the police to access SARC services and support. The facility is run by Mountain Healthcare.

Arch Teesside
Middlesbrough-based Arch Sexual Violence Services in Teesside employs the Independent Sexual Violence Adviser (ISVA.) The ISVA:
- Tailors support to the needs of the victim
- Provides accurate and impartial information to victims and to the families of children and young people
- Gives emotional and practical support
- Provides support before, during and after criminal and civil court cases
- Acts as a single point of contact for the victim
- Ensures the safety of victims and their dependents

EVA Women’s Aid
EVA Women’s Aid supports women and children in Redcar and Cleveland fleeing domestic abuse and sexual violence.
its aim is to provide a range of free, confidential and non-judgmental specialist support services.
Services are designed for women and children who have, at some point, been affected by domestic abuse and/or sexual violence.

A Way out
A Way Out is a Stockton-based outreach and prevention charity
It aims to engage, empower and equip vulnerable and excluded women, families and young people to live lives free from harm, abuse and exploitation. This includes providing services for victims of adult sexual exploitation.
In addition, the charity aims to reduce life-limiting choices and behaviour. Among its services are a Violence against Women and Girls Support Worker (VAWG) funded by Cleveland OPCC.

The Halo Project
In addition to supporting victims of honour-based violence, forced marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM,) the Halo Project provides support for black and minoritised ethnic women and children suffering sexual violence and domestic abuse,
The charity provides emotional and practical advice and support to victims. Among the services provided, the Halo Project has a dedicated BME worker.
Halo works with key partners to secure victims’ safety and protection.
