Executive Summary:
The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) agreed to provide Mutual Aid to Northern Ireland for the G8 conference.
The decision to provide the officers to police the conference was made in July 2013.
The costs associated with training and deployment were to be met by the Home Office. The total cost to the force of providing Mutual Aid and training was £151,944.13.
However, a significant amount of the work was provided within normal duty time, for which a budget had already been provided.
As a result, an extra £59,484.38 was incurred in additional costs to the force.
Therefore, the force is asked for a £59,484.38 increase in its budget to cover the extra cost of covering the G8 conference.
The additional income of £92,459.75 will be added to the underspend in the budget for 2013-14.
